Great work by the Canadian S.A. Sadly, they pay minimum wage to regular workers. Yes, they give a small wage increase yearly (with no opportunity to earn better wage other than advancement) so at their rate it takes years to reach $20.00 per hour. Try to feed a couple, let alone a family and pay rent today in B.C. on minimum wage. Charity begins at home. Just saying.

The salvation army was a godsend for me. BUT, I was desperate. I found some of the staff arrogant and belittling. They knew we were beholden to them and treated some of us like shit. They did not want "guests' That were smarter than them. Nevertheless. I do appreciate.

The audience you are trying to reach is the audience who needs the service now. Better find a new strategy. Maybe look into cutting back on Administrative costs or the communications dept costs.
